"Craftmanship and nature - this is what we are all about"

Rattan primarily grows in Asia, with 80% of the production coming from Indonesia. It is a climbing palm, fast-growing and strong, thriving in rainforests and harvested by hand. The material is both durable and easy to maintain.
Mith’s rattan comes from Indonesia and is handmade by local artisans. By manufacturing near the source of the material, we can tap into local craftsmanship and collaborate with skilled artisans who have generations of experience in processing and weaving rattan. All of our products are designed in Denmark by MITH CPH.

Rattan, particularly wicker, has a long history—dating back to Moses and the wicker baskets found in Tutankhamun's tomb. It has always been a part of our cultural heritage. In more recent decades, rattan enthusiasts like Marella Agnelli and Bunny Mellon have incorporated it into their interiors, recognizing its value as a counterbalance to fine art and antiques.
The humble, warm, and casually elegant look of rattan should never be underestimated. Its neutral, natural appearance makes it incredibly versatile, fitting into any space. Whether you live in a modern home, a countryside cottage, a castle, or a flat, rattan adds a cozy and inviting touch to your environment.
When you invite rattan and wicker into your home, you embrace nature. As with all things made naturally, it takes time—and so does our wicker production. Each batch is limited.
